My name is Fiona Corrie, founder of Thrive Therapy Solutions. I am an experienced mental health clinician providing counselling and psychotherapy services across Western Australia, Far North Queensland, and internationally via secure telehealth. With many years in private practice in Cairns, I have also established my practice in Western Australia, supporting clients in Perth, Mandurah and regional and remote communities. I continue to work with individuals and families in Cairns, Mossman and Port Douglas, communities I remain deeply connected to.
My therapeutic approach is warm, person-centred and trauma-informed, grounded in strong clinical foundations and cultural responsiveness. I support clients across the lifespan—from complex mental health concerns and relationship challenges to workplace stress and personal growth. As both a mother and an experienced clinician with an acute mental health background, I bring a balanced, compassionate and real-world perspective, ensuring each client feels heard, respected and supported wherever they are located.
I have extensive experience supporting individuals with high-acuity presentations, while also working effectively with those navigating everyday stressors, relational difficulties and personal growth.

Thrive Therapy is a person-centred, holistic counselling service based in Subiaco and Cairns. Our service was founded to provide a recovery-orientated, evidence-based therapeutic experience to clients of all ages and circumstances. Owner and lead-therapist, Fiona, has worked within the Acute Mental Health space supporting adults, adolescents, children and parents with their mental health journeys.
Our approach to therapy involves working collaboratively with each client to determine a therapeutic strategy that suits your unique circumstances. We use a range of different approaches, from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to hypnotherapy, motivational interviewing, somatic healing and family constellations. Our therapists are trained in Behavioural, Cognitive and Psychodynamic therapies.
I work towards establishing counselling goals that are respectfully within the capacity of each client. Promoting a sense of agency, I guide clients to develop skills that will help them meet their goals. This can include emotional regulation skills, communication strategies and tools to enhance resilience. Working together, we aim to build capacity by enhancing and maintaining protective factors while reducing risk factors and other barriers associated with adverse behaviours.
I have an ability to build rapport and trust, to obtain and integrate client’s wishes and goals and negotiate participation in assessment and ownership of realistic intervention and maintenance plans. My counselling sessions encompass a high level of empathy, self-management, listening, boundary setting, authenticity, unconditional positive regard, concrete communication, interpretation and solution collaboration. I can apply individual behavioural interventions and crisis intervention with psychotherapy knowledge from a trauma-informed, evidence-based practice.
